What is your favorite part of an Oreo Cookie? The chocolate wafer or the white vanilla cream center?
Well, for me its always been the vanilla cream center. Usually Oreo cupcakes are made with a chocolate cake but since the vanilla cream center is my favorite part it led the way to Oreo Crumb Cupcakes. I wanted to emphasize the taste of the oreo and its much better this way than with a chocolate cake. Don't get me wrong I love chocolate cake :)
I made a vanilla buttercake and added some mashed up Oreo crumbs to the batter. Then I whipped up a batch of vanilla buttercream also with mashed up Oreo's in it and topped it with the number 1 cookie. The cake is moist and the buttercream is fluffy and it exudes my favorite part of an Oreo.
The best part of this cupcake is you can take the cookie and dunk it into the icing and eat a big dollap of icing with the cookie. When you bite down on the cake you taste bits of Oreo's, better yet I bet you can dunk the whole cupcake in milk! Have it anyway you like :)
